As an exclusive gift to Amazon customers, Hall of Fame author Stephen King
shares the chilling first chapter of a work in progress. In "The Pulse," a
sunny afternoon in the park turns into a scene of terror for a young man who
witnesses the beginning of a eadly "event."

Don't damn me when I speak my peice of mind
Cause silence isn't golden when I'm holding it inside
Cause I've been where I have been and I've seen what I have seen
I put the pen to the paper cause it's all a part of me

Building for a shallow grave
Must be something else we say

Hi,

My name is Murielle. I used to post here a lot, then drifted off for a
while, for about the last year or so I've been lurking off and on. So, time
to delurk, I think.

I too was excited when I read the first chapter of The Pulse. It took me
back to the flavour of some of King's older works, some of his short
stories.

It's been years since I've read a new King book. I have a bunch of them
sitting here waiting for me to pick them up and start, including The Black
House, but my time has been otherwise employed. Perhaps this will spark my
King interest again.

Murielle
My! Reads like a vintage King short circa 1974. Can't wait for the rest.
I've been waiting for YEARS for another no holds barred, leave brain at
entrance King story. Looks like The Stand meets Land of the Dead...
